Who's afraid of the woods? Not this group of Ubah girls! Ms. Kelly and Ms. Jen led 18 Ubah students on a week-long trip up to Ely, Minnesota to enjoy the nature, animals and quiet of Camp Widji.
Students at Camp Widji took classes about the night sky, predators and prey, wilderness survival and how to save our environment. They also had plenty of free time to enjoy their natural surroundings by going on nature hikes, looking for animal trails and playing sports. Highlights included sharing traditional Somali folktales around a campfire, eating delicious organic meals and getting away from "big city life" to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Thank you to Camp Widji for sponsoring our school's trip to Widji! It was an experience we will never forget!
